Girls Day Out

On Miranda's birthday, February 16th, I had the day off work and so I drove up to Manteca to spend time with my sister and Mom (and of course all the Larson girls).  We went to the AMC by Bass Pro Shop because they show movies for $5 before a certain time (I want to say 6pm).  We saw The Vow.  I thought it was really cute.  A little predictable... but who cares. As long as there is a happily ever ever at the end of a chick flick I am happy.  And besides, what's not to love about Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams?! Better yet this movie was based on a true love story. <3 After the movie it was nice to spend a few minutes and enjoy some girl talk.

Baby Fix: New Nephew

I, like many women, constantly need a baby fix.  I love holding babies and playing with them.  The very best baby fix though is when I get to hold a new born.  My brother and his fiance just had there first baby (My mom and Dad's first grand baby) and I was lucky enough to get to hold him.  They live in Utah and Anthony's Grandma's funeral was the weekend after Elliot was born so we were happy we were able to go.

DIY Body Scrub - to cure dry winter skin

You have got to try this!

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup raw oatmeal

1 tsp. lemon juice

1 Tbl. vegetable oil

1 Tbl. honey

Mix ingredients together in a bowl and take it with you to the shower.  Scrub all over your body using slow circular motions.  Make sure to get those rough patches on you elbows and knees and be gentle with more sensitive areas.  You can even use this scrub on your hands, feet, and lips.  I wouldn't recommend using it on your face because it is fairly abrasive.  After you have done your whole body, rinse with warm water.  Enjoy soft, smooth skin that feels like butter.  The brown sugar also gives your skin a healthy looking glow.

The Twist

Here is a quick tutorial on the twist for those of you who have seen it, like it, but have no idea how to do it.  Note: this is very popular right now and also very simple/ easy.  I like it because it is very versatile and it doesn't take too much time.

 part your hair.

 take a section at your part.

 split it in 2 sections.

 twist the front strand over the back strand.

 add in a section of hair (from front hairline) and add it the section you are working with. in other words whatever section is in front.

continue twisting until you feel like stopping and use two bobby pins crisscrossed to secure it.

The most common twist is done with just the bangs, however if you keep twisting you can add it into a cute side-pony or bun.

...or create a twist on both sides, put your extra hair in a hair tie and tuck it in to get this look.

I am Obsessed

Today I just needed to get out of the house.  So I decided to go shopping.  I had a couple of gift cards to spend... but all I could think about was this really cute wristlet I say at Kohl's a few days ago.  I finally made up my mind that since I couldn't stop thinking about it I must really love it.  So I drove over to Kohl's and found the one I had been dreaming about.  However, it wasn't as cute as I remembered so I looked through all of them until I found IT!

  After I convinced myself that it was worth $15 (the price it was listed as on sale) I stood in a 10 minute-long line.  It was sooooo worth it!  It cost me $2.79 and was originally $26.00.

 Here is what the inside looks like. 

I love that this purse is so colorful that it makes a statement and yet will match with everything.  The reason I even considered getting a new wallet in the first place was: I started working at Bath and Body Works for the Holiday Season along with 60 other associates and I was told that if I wanted to have enough room in the purse prison I needed to down size.  I love that there is a pocket big enough for my phone and keys and even my itouch.  I am obsessed with my new purchase!!!

Get This Look

 This Fall I am swooning over this look: socks or legwarmers under your boots and just below your knees.  This look goes perfectly with a pair of jeans or a knee-length skirt.  This cold weather has me dieing to go out and get this look.  You can either go purchase a cute pair of socks or legwarmers... or you can make them.  I need to look into this more, but I have heard that you can make legwarmers out of on old sweater.

Autumn - There is Beauty All Around Us

Sometimes, Save Time For Me :Saturdays are a time to enjoy the beauty all around you.
